What are they?
LED Ceiling Lights for stretch ceilings can be very diverse, namely:
- Embedded;
- Overhead;
- Swivel;
- Fixed.
The first two types differ in the installation method. The recessed LED ceiling light for stretch ceilings allows you to get a complete picture of the ceiling, a kind of homogeneous structure. One gets the impression that the ceiling was mounted immediately with them. These can be rotary or stationary. Also, such models can be mounted hidden or external. LED luminaires that are built into the ceiling will allow you to get interesting lighting solutions, and all thanks to the fact that you can see the dots only being directly under them. If the built-in luminaire has a protruding part, then it can be a completely independent decorative element.
Overhead luminaires are used when it is not possible to use LED ceiling lamps built into a stretch ceiling. They are installed directly on the plane, most often on plasterboard frame, since it is not possible to fix them to the stretch ceiling.
Overheads have more room for adjusting the luminous flux, since they are mainly rotary, and they have a wide angle for this. With the help of these, it is very convenient to highlight individual areas that were not originally planned, for example, paintings.For their installation, a specially built-in component is not required, which must be mounted before stretching the ceiling sheet.
Regarding rotary and non-rotary, we have already mentioned that they are not going to be repeated.
We have allocated pendant lamps in a separate group, as they are similar to traditional chandeliers with one shade... They also have LED lamp in its composition and can be successfully used for all types of ceilings, including stretch ceilings. Such models uniquely decorate the interior and bring a touch of minimalism, since it is difficult to find traditional flowers, petals and detailed decorative elements in the range of such LED lamps for stretch ceilings.
Ease of use of LED lamps
LED spotlights provide ample opportunities for organizing lighting in the house. The stretch ceiling is best combined with them. They are able to diffuse the light flux over a small area, which is very convenient for local illumination of individual parts of the home. If you need calm soft lighting in bedroom, then a few points are enough. In the case of lighting the working area, you can focus 2-3 lamps in a small space and your eyes will not get tired.
LEDs have a huge advantage over other lamps when installing light in a stretch ceiling. They are highly energy efficient. They will not damage the surface of the ceiling, as incandescent lamps can do this, they do not need any special sockets as for halogen lamps. Their radiation spectrum does not have ultraviolet waves, which means that the lighting in the house will be as natural and comfortable as possible for the eyes.
LEDs do not use variable 220V, but constant 1.5-3.5V, which is safer for humans. They also do not depend on the quality of the electric current, so that flickering of their radiation is impossible, provided that they are correctly installed.

How many are needed for lighting?
Of course, this is not 1 or 2 lamps, especially if you decide to abandon the usual chandelier. The calculation is based on the following standard - 1 LED source is capable of providing 25-30 W lighting for 1 square meter of floor, that is, for normal lighting of such an area, 3 points will be required. Below is a comparative table of different types of lamps.
Luminous flux, lm | LED, W | Luminescent, W | Incandescent, W |
50 | 1 | 4 | 20 |
100 | 5 | 25 | |
100-200 | 6/7 | 30/35 | |
300 | 4 | 8/9 | 40 |
400 | 10 | 50 | |
500 | 6 | 11 | 60 |
600 | 7/8 | 14 | 65 |
I would like to note that when choosing LED lamps, you should not be guided by the price, or rather, do not rush to low prices, better to the recognizable names of manufacturers that have already proven themselves.
Installation nuances
Before proceeding with the installation of the ceiling, you need to think wiring diagram to the locations of the recessed luminaires, as it will be difficult to do later. And this is not the last thing to do before stretching the canvas. Since LEDs operate on different voltages, you can choose different models, for example, models that work from 220 or those that will illuminate the space of the room, using 12 or 24 V. If you chose the latter option, then take care of purchasing a transformer. it will lower the voltage. And its location also needs to be thought out in advance.
The best solution in this case would be to move it outside the structure, since hatches, viewing windows will spoil the overall holistic picture of the ceiling.
conclusions
The stretch ceiling is beautiful and modern. For it you need to choose the appropriate lighting, and a bulky chandelier is not always the best option. Today, recessed LED ceiling lights for stretch ceilings look the most attractive. Their range today can wipe its nose with any other type of lighting. And a special highlight is that they can be mounted completely imperceptibly, which creates a kind of mysterious lighting.
